A dogs New Years resolution 2017

So we are almost into a new year. 2016 is just days away from being over and a fresh new year to get it right! Let's face it I am a dog so I don't have the same options and opportunities that humans have. It amazes me how many people live the same year, every year, and just a new number. I don't understand it when they are able to do amazing things that dogs can't do. Humans have far more options but act like they are as limited as we are. I am not really making any resolutions but I am working on a new mindset. Here are some of the things that I am going to embrace in the new year.

*Stop talking to the mailman. Every time I bark at him it is a waste of my time. He is not interested in what I have to say and really I feel like I am talking to myself. Moving forward I will invest my time in those who are genuinely interested in spending time with me and hearing what I have to say. Who do you talk to that doesn't seem fully engaged or interested in what you have to say?

*Stop complaining. I mean sometimes I bark at my humans and they just don't get it. I always get the same questions like Oh baby do you want to go out? Or, what is the matter sweetie? Seriously? I just got done telling them that they were spending too much time on their phone and they ask me these stupid questions? I am going to nicely state my issue and then move on and focus on the positive. Do you find yourself complaining to someone about the same issue over and over and they just don't seem to get it?

*Eat more cheese. I mean heck, life is short why not enjoy? I will have to figure out a way to convince my humans to provide more cheese on a regular basis. What do you reward yourself with?

*Minimize distractions. My brother is a huge source of distraction, he barks at squirrels! I mean come on dude. I want to focus on things that are important to me like when mom is cooking. What are the distractions in your life that move you away from your goals?

*Spend quality time with my sweetheart. We are all busy. Yes even us dogs! I only get to see my sweetie on weekends which is filled with lots of other things going on that cuts down on our quality time. My goal is to get to visit more often and when I do get to see her to do romantic things like share a bowl of spaghetti, just like in the movies.  Do you make time for the important people in your life or do you just take for granted that they will always be there?

*Stop trying to figure out cats. I posted on Instagram today showing where I said "High five cat" and she just walked away! She was mad at me because previously I said to her "Oh it looks like the holidays were kind to you. I can see you've gained a few pounds". Touchy Touchy. Do you have people or dogs in your life that don't understand you?

Lastly to do more in every way that I can to help the cause so that every dog has a loving home. All dogs deserve love and a home and no dog should be judged on the basis of looks or breed.

What are your new years resolutions, goals, or mindsets?

Happy New Year!
